Meet Ajwang Rading
From homelessness to running for the House of Representatives, Ajwang knows what it takes to fight for our future. With persistence, the unconditional love of his mom, and a village of Americans supporting him, Ajwang climbed out of poverty to become an attorney, educator, and organizer. But his story is too rare in California and America today. To address the compounding crises in health, climate, and housing, and to ensure every person has a fighting chance at success, we need a new generation of leadership in Washington.

In 2022, Ajwang ran to represent California’s 16th Congressional District, which became official in December 2021 after the California Citizens Redistricting Commission redrew the congressional boundaries to accommodate the results of the 2020 Census. The district includes the heart of Silicon Valley, and spans the coastline from Pacifica in the north to Pescadero in the south, and east to Campbell, Saratoga, and Los Gatos.
The region has been represented in Washington by the same person for over three decades, but the status quo is clearly failing to address the crises in climate, housing, and health. In the most innovative district in the country, we need a new generation of leadership that carries the values, potential, and promise of our district to Washington.
